And what of the massacre of the Hebronites in 1929? Hebronites who had lived peacefully on the land for generations, who were for the most part fervent ANTI-Zionists...

To the above quote/comment: I know it's a figure of speech but I HATE when people mistake "PALESTINIAN" (just Arabs) and "PHILLISTINES"... The Phillistines were a non-Sematic sea-faring people of the Aegean. THey are as much related to Palestinian Arabs as the Chinese. The Phillistines were the Jews ancient enemy, Goliath (of David and Goliath) was a PHillistine.

After defeating a Jewish revolt against Roman oppression, Emperor Hadrian enacted an ingenius punishment. His punishment was to ERASE THE JEWISH IDENTITY and HISTORY of the land! They did 'the usual', tearing down synogagues and relics however in a very unique act that haunts Israel till this day: they RENAMED THE NATION. Jerusalem became Aelia Capitalina (that name did not stick apparently), and the land of Israel became PALASTINA. The name was to be especially offensive to Jews in that it invoked the name of their ancient enemy.

Make no mistake about it though : the name does not have ANYTHING to do with the Arabs who today call themselves 'Palestinians'... This is also a grievous misnomer for they are just Arabs, genetically, ethnically, culturally identical to Syrians & Iraqis (incidentally, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia are 'new' nations as well)...

[...] “The Philistine” then goes on to give the tired old propagandists rendition of events at Deir Yassin. My linked posts, which quote the book “Aliyah” give another side of the story. It’s up to the readers to decide who’s telling the truth and who bends the truth for political purposes. Another reason Deir Yassin is cited so frequently by the Arab opponents to Israel’s existence is because there really isn’t much else to point to in Israel’s history. Contrast this to the many massacres perpetrated on Israel by the Arab world. By all means, google the topic. I’m confident you’ll be shocked. [...]
