The “Religion of Peace” Strikes Again
8 July 2006According to Agence France-Presse, on July 7, the new Islamic controllers of Somalia are threatening to execute Muslims who skip prayers.
The hardline Islamists who control most of Somalia vowed yesterday to execute Muslims who skip prayers and rejected calls by the largely powerless transitional government to bring in foreign peacekeepers. Under an edict issued by a leading Mogadishu cleric, the five-times daily prayer required by the Koran will be enforced under penalty of death, a move that confirms the hardline nature of the city’s shariah courts. “He who does not perform prayers will be consider as infidel, and shariah law orders that person be killed,” said Sheik Abdalla Ali, a founder and high-ranking official in the Supreme Islamic Council in Somalia. The edict comes two days after militia members killed two people in central Somalia while quelling a protest against a ban on watching the World Cup at a local cinema. Yesterday, Islamic leaders said two suspects had been arrested for shooting unarmed civilians and would be prosecuted under shariah law, which could draw the death penalty. US officials are alarmed by the “creeping Talibanization” of Somalia through the Islamists, who they accuse of harboring extremists, including Al-Qaeda members.
We’re not sure why the US administration is “alarmed”. This is today’s and yesterday’s Islam - live by the sword and die by the sword. Let’s hope there is a Somali uprising that conquers these Islamist fools.

yeaaa that’s rather scary…being killed for not praying. Murder is the ultimate sin, so aren’t they screwing themselves over?

I don’t know Wes, you seem to be the “expert” on Muslim affairs, so why don’t you tell me - are they screwing themselves over or not? I agree with you, but these guys claim to be the Muslim enforcers, so maybe they are right?
