Iranians Resent Aid to Hezbollah
23 July 2006According to the New York Times, Iranian support for Hezbollah is causing resentment among younger Iranians, who believe that money should remain in Iran. Among the quotes in the article are:
“Iranians are very sensitive and want our money to stay in the country and be spent for Iranians to solve their problems.”
“We Iranians have a saying - we should save our own house first and then save the mosque. A lot of people think this way. The government should help its people first, and then help the people in Lebanon.”
“Of course I am angry - all our income is going to Palestine and Hezbollah.”
It’s good to see that Iranians are not afraid to speak out against their government’s support of terror organizations. Let’s hope this dissent continues and grows to a point where the Iranian people take their country back from the mad mullahs that are running it (into the ground…).
