A Glimmer of Hope for Egypt – An Anti-Brotherhood Army

    ‍‍February 26th, 2013 - יז אדר תשעג

Egypt seems to be spiraling out of control. As The Muslim Brotherhood makes changes to the system to give them more and more power, there is one thing they don’t control – the Egyptian army. Recent reports indicate that the Egyptian Army is not necessarily supporting all decisions of the government and could intervene against it in the case of a civil war. The opposition of the army to the Muslim Brotherhood is nothing new – since Nasser, the Brotherhood has always been kept in check by the army, a position that could be well-entrenched in the army’s psyche.

It seems there might be a glimmer of hope for Egypt after all. Time will tell.

Does Anybody Really Care About the “Palestinians”?

    ‍‍February 23rd, 2013 - יג אדר תשעג

Mitchell Bard, an expert on Middle East affairs and author of several books, writes about the current slaughter of Palestinians in Syria. 700 or more Palestinians have been killed in Syria, and there is very little we know about it. Human rights groups, pro-Palestinian activists, the Arab street, the United Nations – nobody is talking about the Palestinians being killed.

Palestinians are fleeing, and Israel has offered to allow refugees to enter the West Bank. You’d think the Palestinian Authority would welcome the refugees with open arms, the Palestinian Authority is showing its true colors and rejecting that offer – even the Palestinian Authority doesn’t care about the Palestinians! This is a very telling article about the attitudes of Palestinians, Arabs and Palestinian supporters. The really only care when Jews kill Arabs…they don’t care about the Arabs themselves.

The Palestinians Never Miss an Opportunity to Miss an Opportunity

    ‍‍February 5th, 2013 - כה שבט תשעג

The title of this post is a misquote from Abba Eban, who actually said “The Arabs never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.” In any regard, the tradition among Palestinians to miss opportunities is second to none. Their latest folly? Pushing for UN statehood in a time when their non-state was crumbling. Now, they may have to cede control back to Israel…and the cycle continues.
