Below
are some maps that might shed some light on today's happenings in the Middle
East. Israel is tiny - 0.25% of what is considered "the Middle East"
(note that the "Middle East" does not mean the Arab world - there are
non-Arab countries in the Middle East such as Iran and Turkey, and Arab
countries outside of the Middle East, such as Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia).
How can one country, Israel, as small as it is, be accused of being
responsible for the ills of the whole region? This is especially crazy
when considering that Israel is the only democracy in the region. Why
do the so-called enlightened intellectual elite condemn a tiny democracy and
then excuse the actions of the majority in the region from non-democracies?
It is beyond question, one of the travesties of our time!
