Am I the only one who thinks that Arafat plays up to the media and the US while at the same time encouraging violence from his people? It's so easy to put the blame for the violence on terrorist groups but he has the real power to stop it. I am in favour of Israel giving the Arabs some land for a state in order to
achieve peace in the Middle East. However I would like to add to this statement that by even considering this, Israel is doing something that few other nations would do. They are actually willing to give away land captured in war rather than use their military might against those who cause the violence. Doesn't that say something for Israel's commitment to a peaceful region and human rights?
No, you aren't the only person that thinks Arafat plays
to the media! It looks like you and I have the same viewpoint on the
issues involved in the Middle East. Israel is in the midst of people who
don't want her to exist and giving up some land may be required. Israel
has and is expected to have higher moral standards than the rest of the thugs in
the region. Hopefully people will some day withdraw their negative
impressions of Israel and will start to treat her as the democratic country that
she is!
